Ohio 10.15.10

We traveled to Columbus, Ohio a few weekends ago. Some of Emmett's family was able to meet us there and were finally able to meet Mr. Jaxson Cole. It was so good to see all of them and spend time with the kids! Nana Pat and Papa Shaff also ran in a 1/2 marathon while we were there. Below are just a few pictures from the weekend-obviously I have 1,295,748 more...I never take enough pictures...in just a few weeks Emmett and I will be headed back to Columbus for our anniversary trip (Buckeyes game and shopping!!!).

Pulling Up & Other Fun Things

Jaxson has been pulling up on everything for a while- whether it's stable or not which has led to more little bumps on the head.

Diaper Rash...ouch

For the past 3 days, Jaxson has had very loose bowels. This has resulted in a horrible diaper rash :(  This is our first dealing with diaper rash and it's worse than I imagined! Poor baby has had a very sore and red bum all week. Daycare started using a warm wash cloth when changing him because he would cry when they used wipes. I think he may have gotten a stomach bug...I know I know shocker that Jaxson would catch something! :) When I picked him up at daycare on Monday and Tuesday he had been crying so long that he was "snubbing" which is something I'm known for. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's like you lose your breath for a second and when we cry hard for a while we "snub" for about a hour after we have stopped crying. Apparently, I did this a lot when I was little- so much that my parents took me to the hospital thinking something was wrong with me! But, it's just something we do and we are fine. It's so pitiful and I almost cried because he was so miserable. I've tried to imagine what a diaper rash must feel like and I'm guessing it would be like having a really bad sunburn on your bum. Anyway, we've got some "special" cream from Grandma Max and the doctor also prescribed him a cream to use 2x day. I'm hoping it will heal up soon! I tried to let it air out a little bit last night but it was a little hard with a squirmy boy and the anticipation of being "sprayed" if you know what I mean! :)
