More “First”

I feel like I’m on repeat but every day Jaxson does something new that either makes us laugh or just leaves us astonished! He has a new cry that consists of him making his usual “whoooo” sounds but he does it with his pouty face. He tried it out on Mother’s Day and all Emmett and I could do was just laugh! He is absolutely precious! He has a few little toys hanging from the handle of his carseat but has never really shown interest in them until lately. On the way to daycare Monday morning, May 10,  I heard a “rrrrkkk….bbzzzzzz” and when I glanced back I realized he had pulled the string on his vibrating toy all by himself! I think he was just as shocked as I was because those blue eyes were very big. He also makes a sound now when he hiccups…it’s sooo cute to hear him hiccup now instead of just seeing his little body jerk with each one. He continues to “talk”, smile, sit up and stand with assistance! He’s also getting very good at kicking those little legs!

I dreamed Sunday night that he went from being 3months old to walking and running around. I was so excited when I woke up to find him still 3 months old. You really have to cherish everyday because they change and grow so much so fast! It’s hard to take a break in our busy lives because we are all just trying to get through the day but with one blink it may all pass us by. I guess my resolution for May is to stop and enjoy each day no matter what needs to be done in the house. Those chores will always be there and they aren’t nearly as important as watching my Jaxson change! Last night after his bath I read him a book (from Keaton) and rocked him to sleep. I don’t think there’s anything sweeter at this point…

He had to go to the doctor on May 11, 2010 for a rash. I wasn’t sure what caused it and daycare would not keep him until we knew what it was in case it was contagious. Dr. Kahn said it looked like an allergic reaction and advised us to stop giving him amoxicillin immediately. I hope he hasn’t developed a penicillin allergy.
